Centrify Adds Enhanced Support for Red Hat Storage to its Flagship DirectControl Solution to Deliver Active Directory-based Secure Access Control to Data Stored on Red Hat Storage
BOSTON (Red Hat Summit 2013 Booth 1012) — Centrify Corporation, a leader in Unified Identity Services across data center, cloud and mobile, today announced from Red Hat Summit 2013 (www.redhat.com/summit), the industry’s premier open source technology event, that Centrify DirectControl has added enhanced support for Red Hat Storage, delivering Active Directory-based authentication and single sign-on for users accessing file shares on Red Hat Storage. Enterprises can now benefit from additional secure access to data stored on Red Hat Storage using native Windows protocols and leveraging Active Directory. The solution will be unveiled this week at Red Hat Summit 2013 at Centrify’s Booth No. 1012.
Centrify DirectControl helps centralize identity management for Red Hat Storage in Active Directory to speed the deployment of Red Hat Storage through additional simplicity and efficiency. Centrify provides even more simplicity when customers scale their Red Hat Storage solution to integrate with Active Directory and provides an easy path to control access, auditing, and server isolation policy.
“IT managers are faced with the challenge of efficiently storing and managing access to file shares on Windows SMB protocols,” said Scott Clinton, senior director, product management and marketing, Storage, Red Hat. “Red Hat is pleased to work with Centrify to address this challenge by leveraging the open scale-out architecture of Red Hat Storage and the centralized identity management capabilities of Centrify DirectControl.”
“We have worked closely with Red Hat over the years to help drive innovation in Red Hat solutions, and Centrify’s enhanced support for Red Hat Storage is the latest effort,” said Shreyas Sadalgi, Centrify Head of Business Development. “With Centrify, user identities are mapped and centralized in Active Directory, creating a more secure environment for storing and accessing data, and access controls that are more easily managed by IT.”
Centrify DirectControl, a component of the Centrify Suite 2013 unified identity solution, is differentiated in the industry for its unique ability to enable Red Hat Linux systems, as well as more than 400 other versions of Linux, UNIX and Mac OS systems, to join an Active Directory domain. Centrify DirectControl’s enhanced support for Red Hat Storage centrally secures and manages Red Hat Storage servers using the same authentication, access control and Group Policy services leveraged for Windows systems. Using Centrify, enterprises reduce operational and helpdesk costs by centralizing account management within Active Directory, enabling standardization on a single set of tools and processes. Centrally managing access rights and privileges strengthens security and enforces consistent security policies across heterogeneous systems. Enterprises also simplify compliance reporting for PCI, SOX, FISMA and other regulations by linking all access rights and privileges to a single, definitive Active Directory identity.
